All-New WCPE Episode 100 – LIVE From Planet Comicon!

DSCN2293

So a funny thing happened two summers ago. Cullen and John were talking, trying to figure out a way to get together more often. Someone suggested a podcast, and Cullen extended an invitation to Jerry to join in on the project. From that humble origin, the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! was born.

For the early months, we tried to work with a script, at least until we figured out the process. The more we did it, the more comfortable we got with it, and the more fun we had doing it too. In December of 2014, we interviewed Jessica Porter (a.k.a. Elite Supergirl) about her toy drive for Children’s Mercy Hospital. After that recording, we began to realize that there was something special going on with the podcast. This wasn’t just an excuse for the three of us to hang out and talk nerdy. This could really be something, so we doubled up our efforts and started creating original content for our blog five days a week.

Then the strangest thing happened…. we got feedback. People were listening to us. Not just family members. Not just close friends that felt obligated to tune in. Real people like yourself who were just looking for fun, honest comic talk. Then a sponsorship offer came in from Clint’s Comics and we suddenly felt like a legitimate real podcast.

Since that time, we’ve been invited to attend conventions and host panels. We’ve met and interviewed dozens of creators and industry professionals. We’ve started receiving comps for upcoming comics, more than we actually have time to read.

All of this is just a long-winded introduction to our panel from last week at Planet Comicon, which is our 100th podcast! We were amazed by the turnout, and we had so much fun interacting with all of you. We got to play some games, and we got to share some really cool swag with everyone.

We do owe a few Thank Yous for episode 100 even being possible. Big thanks to Chris Jackson and the Planet Comicon crew for giving us a panel time. Huge thanks to UsernameNerd, who happened to video our panel. We had some audio issues with our recording, so we are using the audio feed from their recording for the podcast. Please go out to their site, give them a listen, and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Our biggest thanks go out to you, our listeners. We can’t guarantee that we would have made it to 100 episodes without you. We are completely sincere when we say this. The fact that people are listening to us, that you plan your Friday schedule around our podcast release, that’s huge to us. You are our heroes! We are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show.
