WCPE Episode 085 – For February 17, 2016 – Deadpool Movie Review and Little Apple Comic Con Interview

wcpe-avatar.jpgHow do you like those chimichangas?

The guys from the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! are back to offer their take on the Deadpool movie. We loved it! Every filthy, dirty, nasty, despicable minute of the movie, from the most interesting take on opening credits EVER to the final post-credits scene – you did stick around for that right? Shame on you if you didn’t!

Anyway, the success of the Deadpool movie kicks off an interesting look at R-rated comic book movies – will we be seeing more of them in the near future, and which characters or concepts would we like to see presented with that rating. Leave us comments as to what you would like to see given the R-treatment on the big screen.

Speaking of Deadpool, do not forget our big YouTube and Instagram giveaway that we have going on right now. Be sure to subscribe to both feeds to be entered!

Next, the guys are going to be busy for the next two weekends out at conventions, and we hope you can make it to some of these to see us and check out the awesome cons!

  • Cullen will be at Wizard World Portland on February 20 and 21. He’s been hanging out with the Hero Initiative crew this week, and will also be at the big creator signing at TFAW (take a drink) on Friday night.
  • John will be set at the Empower Comic Con in Topeka, KS, on February 20 and 21. (Look for Jerry there, too, on Sunday!) John will be hosting some of the panels on Saturday, including one with the Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner.
  • Jerry will be set up at the Little Applc Comic Con in Manhattan, KS, on February 27. Jerry will be hosting two panels in the afternoon, and WCPE will be sharing a table with our good friend Elite Supergirl. For more details on the LACC, we brought in the con organizers, Ali and Josh Smith, for an interview, which is included in this episode. (I know, I know, way to bury the lead!)

Finally, we wrap things up with an early and speculative look at the DC Rebirth project. Mind you, we record this show on Wednesday nights and release the podcast on Friday mornings. In between, DC did their big presentation at ComicsPRO to the retailers, and all of the details can be found on your favorite comic news websites. That said, it definitely appears that DC listened to many of our suggestions, AS THEY SHOULD!!!

As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, and we hope you enjoy the show.
