On this episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, the guys traveled downtown to visit Clint’s Comics. Clint’s has been in business for over 45 years, which speaks tremendously about its success in the crazy world of comic book retailing. Situated at the intersection of Main Street and Westport Road, Clint’s is a destination shop for all comic book fans.
We sat down for an interview with store owner Jim Cavanaugh. Jim worked at Clint’s before buying the store in 1975. In our interview, Jim shared stories about his years in the business; meeting legendary figures such as Howard Chaykin, Al Pastino, Frank Miller, and many others; and he gave us insight into what makes for a successful comic book store.
In the discussion, Jim brought up the Unicorn Theatre’s production of Lasso of Truth, which runs through February 15, 2015, in Kansas City.
As always, from three “Clint’s kids” who dropped a lot of their allowance money at Clint’s South in the 1980s, we thank you for listening to the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!
