WCPE Episode 152 – Remembering Jim, Current Reads, and Super-Hero High School

It’s only been seven days since we last got together, but it really feels like a lifetime.

As you should know by now, Clint’s Comics owner Jim Cavanaugh died in an altercation with a shoplifter last week. Jim and his stores have been a part of our lives for nearly 35 years. In addition, Jim was the sponsor of our podcast for the last two years, which allowed us so many wonderful opportunities to get out to conventions to see you! We share our thoughts about Jim, and we ask you to lift up a glass to him, or even read a comic, in his honor.

Speaking of comics, we dive into some recent reads. Cullen has been prepping for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie by going on a shopping spree at the Comixology outlet on Paradise Island. John has traveled back to the Bronze Age to join the Justice League of America on the satellite. And Jerry finally starts to understand the hubbub around the TV show Rick & Morty, thanks to an FCBD book.

Getting back to our regularly scheduled programming, the guys revisit the super-heroes still in high school, as John wraps up the current school year. From Peter Parker to Kamala Khan and characters in between, we recount some of our favorite stories, appearances, and omissions over the years.

We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you’ve been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show.
