Much like the legendary 1980s rock group Loverboy, the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is working for the weekend! This weekend in particular!
It’s going to be a busy weekend for all three guys. John and Jerry will be set up at the Smallville ComicCon in Smallville (Hutchinson), KS, on Saturday and Sunday. Stop by booth #74 and complete the new Fan Favorite Feud survey, and make plans to attend one of our many panels with original Supergirl Helen Slater, actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, and comic legend Marv Wolfman. Meanwhile, Cullen and Nicholas Prom from the Comic Reflections podcast (check his show out!) will be traveling to the University of Oregon for an EC Comics exhibit and presentation on Saturday.
But before we can get on the road (again), the guys have to get caught up on some nerd speak. Jerry and John went to see X-Men: Apocalypse last weekend, and share their thoughts about the latest entry in the long-running franchise. We also dive into Micronauts #2 from IDW. If only we could live in a world where the X-Men could meet the Micronauts…
We wrap things up with a quick remembrance of Muhammad Ali, who passed away last weekend. Ali has his ties to the comic book world, with the legendary tabloid comic by Neal Adams that teamed him the boxer up with Superman. As the champ once said, “Live every day as if it were your last because someday you’re going to be right.”
