The countdown is on for the 2016 Planet Comicon! We are now less than a month away from the largest comic book convention ever in Kansas City! Needless to say, your favorite podcasters are giddy in anticipation of getting to hang out with our tribe for three days in May.
To get us ready for the show, we sat down this week with Kirk Chritton, Chief Marketing Officer of Planet Comicon, to discuss everything that is going on this year. Kirk has been a long-time presence in the Kansas City comic book scene, publishing fanzines in the 1980s and 1990s, and part of the PCC team for many years.
Obviously, the biggest draw for this year is Stan Lee making his first appearance at PCC! People have been waiting years to see him here! But the list does not stop there! Add in George Takei, Jenna Coleman, Bonnie Wright, Edward James Olmos, Darryl McDaniels… This list is insane!
Could this show get even better? YES, because the comic book guest list is HUGE – Bill Sienkiewicz, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, Neal Adams, Matt Hawkins, Tony Moore, Jason Aaron, Don Rosa, Joe Staton, Cullen Bunn, and much more! Seriously, we could list everyone out, but your best bet is to head over to planetcomicon.com to get the entire up-to-date listing, as well as details on times and tickets.
But let’s be honest here, the most important question to be answered is will the guys from the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! be there? Yes, YES, a thousand times YES! As is our tradition, we will volunteer our time at the show for the Hero Initiative. We’ve mentioned them a couple of times on our show, and there is more information located at the bottom of this post.
We will be manning a table and raising funds for the Hero Initiative. In addition, we will be hosting numerous panels at the con, including a live panel which will be our 100th Podcast! Who would have believed that we would make it to 100? Of course, we could be jinxing ourselves here, and find ourselves canceled next week. But we don’t want that, so let’s get our ratings up. Please listen to our podcasts, share our social media feeds with your friends & family, and make plans to attend our panels at Planet Comicon!
