OK, friends, if you haven’t done so already, please clear your calendars for Saturday, October 3. Gather up your friends & family, and head up to the Lawrence for the 2015 Free State Comicon.

Celebrating its 10th year, the Free State Comicon brings together comic book professionals, dealers, and fans from across the Midwest. While the focus is on up-and-coming creators getting into the business, you will find a mix of veteran creators as well.

Jerry sat down with owner/organizer Craig Klotz last week to go over this year’s convention and the guest line-up. Craig has been producing this convention, as well as the KC Fancon shows, for many years, constantly working to improve the experience and making it an ideal win-win experience for everyone involved.

Now, I may be burying the lead here, but the best part of this show, I think, is that it is only $5 to get in. As if that was not sweet enough, kids 12 and under can get in free. Seriously, for the cost of 2-3 new comics, an entire family can get into the show and stay as long as they want!
