WCPE Episode 172 – Interview with Jai Nitz

It only took 172 episodes, but we finally — FINALLY — got comic book writer Jai Nitz on the line with us to talk comics. Specifically his new comic Fu Jitsu from Aftershock Comics. This book has been in the making for 10 years, going through multiple revisions before arriving at your local comic shop this week. In this book, Fu Jitsu is the world’s smartest boy and has been for the last hundred years. Yes, this book is crazy like that. Jai and artist Wesley St. Claire deliver a knockout first issue that impressed all of us in the WCPE studios!

But before we can speak to Jai, we get in some comic and TV talk. Shows are returning to the air this week, with premieres already for Gotham, Orville, and Star Trek: Discovery. Which ones are we going to watch, skip, or catch-up on next summer from Netflix? We also recount our visit to the Little Apple Comic Expo last weekend, visiting friends, diving into 50 cent bins, and helping someone track down a book read more than 30 years ago.

We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you’ve been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show.
