We’ve reached the halfway point of the calendar year, and the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! remains as the longest running, lowest rated show in our demographics. We’re quite proud of that record, by the way!
On our show this week, John and Jerry share some stories from the Smallville Comic Con, which was held in Hutchinson, KS, last weekend. We hosted some media and comic book creator panels, John emceed the cosplay contest ceremony, and we just had a good time hanging out with friends. Next weekend, we will be back on the road to Omaha for the third O Comic Con. Again, more media and comic book creator panels are on our agenda, as well as a Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! panel on Friday at 2 PM. Hope to see you there!
Next up is some Marvel talk, as we continue our summer reading of AvX. We upped our reading speed, going from five books a week to 10 so that we can actually finish it in the summer. We also take a look at the Marvel Legacy announcements, which leads into a discussion as to how much nostalgia impacts our comic buying habits.
We wrap things up with a Giant-Size Marvel quiz. Yes, we all are familiar with Giant-Size X-Men, and add your own Giant-Size Man-Thing jokes here. But how many other Giant-Size titles did Marvel put out? Jerry tests John and Cullen with a mix of real and made-up titles.
We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you’ve been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show.
