Welcome to the new year! The WCPE guys are back in action with comic reviews, previews and lots of content on our social media sites. Now if we could just get the audio feeds to work right….
Anyway, we are so excited to talk about Savage #2 from Valiant Comics. This is an incredible book that found ways to surpass issue #1, which we didn’t think was even possible. Writer B. Clay Moore, artists Clayton Henry and Lewis LaRosa, and colorist Brian Reber again work their magic to tell a breathtaking story that is equal parts Lost and Jurassic World. I don’t know how many more times we need to say this, but you need to be buying this book! You will thank us later.
We run down the various books that we picked up at the comic store this week, as well as discuss some readings that we did over the winter break. Let’s just say John read a lot of Valiant Comics.
We have some fun looking at the assignments of the Avengers to various states for the U.S. Avengers variant covers. Some make sense, and others…. well, let’s just say we can probably list more than 100 different Avengers before we would have to use D-Man for Nebraska.
The guys have a fun conversation about the upcoming Wizard World Portland and artist Mike Perkins, who will be at the Hero Initiative table at that show. As a side note, we had some recording difficulties during this part of the conversation. I’m not for sure what John ended up splicing together to make this somewhat coherent but it made for a fun listen on our end.
