Ladies and gentlemen, The Fifth Beatle!
The guys at the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! have been big fans of the Beatles for as long as we can remember, so it was a thrill for us to get our hands on The Fifth Beatle when it was released in late 2013. As much as we love the story (and music) of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, what we got with this book was the incredible story of Brian Epstein, the man who discovered the band and got them ready to pass their audition.
To help us pass our audition, we brought in The Fifth Beatle writer Vivek Tiwary, who we had the chance to meet earlier this year at Rose City Comic Con. Vivek loves to talk about The Fifth Beatle, which makes him a natural for a podcast like ours!
John and Cullen spend an hour discussing the origins of The Fifth Beatle with Vivek – why tell this story, why tell it as a graphic novel, and how did the art team of Andrew Robinson and Kyle Baker get attached to the project? In addition, The Fifth Beatle is being adapted for a six-part TV series, which Vivek is working on as a producer. The show has received the rights to use the actual Beatles music in the series, which is going to make this a very special project that you will want to watch!
The Fifth Beatle is a beautiful book that was recently re-issued in a softcover edition with additional pages from Kyle Baker. This is the perfect time to pick up this book, either as a gift for a friend, a family member or for yourself! To keep up with the latest news, follow The Fifth Beatle on Twitter and Facebook, and do yourself a favor and follow Vivek, too, on Twitter and Facebook.
