What a weekend! We have returned from Omaha and the first event hosted by OmahaBound. We’re still riding a high of getting to hang out with some incredibly cool and fun people for three days. It truly was a learning experience for everyone, sharing processes and thoughts on how to create comics. We wrapped things up on Sunday interviewing all of the participants. But we’ve got so many interviews, we’re going to break this up into two podcasts!
Episode 117 is the first of our two episodes, where John and Jerry interview the following guests at Panel Exploration in Omaha on September 16:
- 0:15:50 – 0:29:10: We speak to artist Jeffrey Koterba, editorial cartoonist for the Omaha World-Herald.
- 0:29:10 – 0:38:09: We sit down with artist Eric Gapstur, the creator of the comic strip Wyatt.
- 0:38:09 – 0:50:32: Jerry and John chat it up with colorist Allen Passalaqua, who does a lot of work for DC Comics in addition to the award-winning Battlepug series.
- 0:50:32 – 1:07:19: We finish this show with an interview with legendary comic creator Stan Sakai. His creator-owned series Usagi Yojimbo has been in print for 30 years and has garnered nearly every possible award multiple times.
Check back on Monday for Episode 118, which will have the second half of our interviews from Panel Exploration.
We are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show.
