WCPE Episode 090 – For March 23, 2016 – Interview with Terry Moore

SIP-CAST-800x441

We’re pretty happy each week to put our podcast out to share with our friends and family. But this week, we are ecstatic to share this podcast with you. We are joined on the show this week by writer-artist Terry Moore, a modern master in the indie comic scene with his multiple hits – Strangers in Paradise, Echo, and Rachel Rising.

We discuss a little bit of everything with Terry – how he went from a would-be comic strip artist to comic book creator; how Strangers in Paradise weathered the storm in the mid-1990s with the collapsing distribution system; and how the nature of SiP changed from the start of the book in the 1990s to its conclusion in the late 2000s. We discuss the upcoming end to Rachel Rising, and Terry even shares an exclusive with us, giving some details on what will be coming out next from Abstract Studios.

Cullen, John, and Jerry have had the opportunity to meet a lot of comic book creators over the years, via the podcast, conventions, or volunteering our time for the Hero Initiative. This interview is easily in our top five moments, as Terry is just as entertaining and engaging as he is talented.

Thank you, Terry, for taking time this week to speak to us. We look forward to our paths crossing later this year at some conventions, and we can’t wait to see how Rachel Rising reaches its conclusion.
