WCPE Episode 088 – For March 9, 2016 – Killing Joke out of Continuity(?) and Comic Business

This week has been another great one for the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! Jerry got to hang out with some of our fans down at Clint’s Comics on Saturday (Happy Birthday Josh) and John found out that he will be heading up to Chicago for C2E2 next week! On the sad side, Jerry has been under the weather, so John and Cullen had to take care of the podcast while he was gone. Bwah-hah-hah-hah!

wcpe-avatar.jpgWe covered a lot of topics for this week including news of the Lumberjanes / Gotham Academy Crossover (YES!) and that Supergirl has been renewed for a second season (YES) and the ambiguity of the future of characters from the Milestone Universe (BOO). We also discussed the news of your opportunity to watch every movie with Captain America in it as a lead up to Civil War (Uhh, no thanks).

Things got a bit more heated as we turned to news of the ret-conning of The Killing Joke out of Batgirl’s personal history. Or maybe it wasn’t. Or maybe it is up to you. We aren’t totally sure about it but John was worked up either way (If you need 9 tweets to sorta explain what your comic meant, then maybe you should have been clearer).

We also discussed the comments made at the ComicsPRO Membership meeting by Image publisher Eric Stephenson about the state of the comics industry. We also looked at these comments in light of the February sales numbers from Diamond.

Finally, we wrapped up with a game of Fantastic Four-themed Super-Hero Over/Under.

As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, and we hope you enjoy the show.

The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proudly sponsored by Clint’s Comics. Clint’s is located at 3941 Main in Kansas City, Missouri, and is open Monday through Saturday.
