WCPE Episode 081 – For January 20, 2016 – Secret Wars Wrap-Up

FINALLY! The biggest event of 2015 has come to an end…. in 2016. The final issue of Secret Wars hit the shelves last week, bringing to an end a complex story that spanned across dozens of mini-series and one-shots over the last eight months.

Kevin Dorsey’s Secret Wars collection!

Cullen, John, and Jerry have all read the main mini-series, plus many of the other supporting books. But not all! Oh my, we’re looking at over 250 books that carried the Secret Wars banner over the last year. That’s a lot of books even for us. Our hats go off to you if you did get all of the books like we found on Facebook. Kevin Dorsey of North Carolina posted this picture earlier this week, showcasing what a complete Secret Wars collection looks like. Did any of our listeners get all of the issues?

We recap the series from Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic and do our best to connect the dots between the end of this issue and the start of the “All-New All-Different Marvel Universe”, which kicked off back in October. We say goodbye for now to the Fantastic Four, but we know that someday in the future, we will see Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny don those blue uniforms again.

So, what did you think of Secret Wars? Please leave a comment about what you enjoyed (or didn’t) from this event. Share it with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-mail, or in the comments thread for this post on the website.
