For many years, I have been mulling the idea of getting a run of my comic books bound together into a hardbound collection. I’ve lurked on forums for years and came close a couple of times, but just have never done it. Until Planet Comicon 2015!
Houchen Bindery, located in Utica, Nebraska, has become a regular attendee at Planet Comicon over the last several years. Houchen Bindery just also happens to be one of the premier comic book binding services world-wide!
I spoke to Tim Benson and David Banks of Houchen Bindery about the process of placing an order, as well as the various options for how the book is assembled and presented. I handed off my run of the John Byrne Alpha Flight issues (#1-28) to have bound. When the book comes back, I will add some pictures to the WCPE blog!

Now, in addition to our audio podcast, Houchen Bindery recorded a video of our conversation for their “Omaha Bound” series. Check us out here to visually see some of the things we were talking about!
David was kind enough to provide us a sample book of a bound volume. I’ve attached a couple of photos below, but to this justice, you really need to hold this in your hand. Sounds like a giveaway! Send us an email to worstcomicpodcastever@gmail.com, and put Houchen in the subject line. We will do a drawing to give away this book on April 15.
