What a great mix of books this week! My initial list had eight books on the short list. That’s a great situation to find yourself in as the writer of this feature this week, being able to pick and choose the best of the best.

However, the name of this column is FOUR Comics I Want. Eight is not Four, so decisions had to be made. With this still being March, I through the titles into a bracket and let them eliminate each other from consideration. There were some brutal battles, but we finally got the four books you should look to pick up from your local comic shop on Wednesday.

For the record, the four books I didn’t go with include Darth Vader, Justice League of America, Power Lines, and Ragnarok. Seriously, that is a solid group of picks right there. It speaks volumes as to the four picks I have listed below. You should be picking up those four books below tomorrow no matter what. Truth be told, you should be picking up all eight books, but that’s only if it looks like you are going to win your NCAA bracket pool.

Faith #3 ($3.99, Valiant Entertainment): The latest issue in the smash-hit for Valiant in 2016, Faith is back in action. We finally see who the main villain of this series is, which is a big reward for long-time fans of the Valiant universe. The only downside to this issue is that we are one issue closer to the end. C’mon Valiant, let’s make this a monthly ongoing and make everyone happy.

Jughead #5 ($3.99, Archie Comics): Once again, the powers that be at Archie Comics hits another home run out of the park with this newest issue from the new Riverdale books. Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson continue to prove that they are the perfect duo to capture Jughead – smarter than he looks; dreaming bigger and better; and always craving a hamburger or milkshake from Pop’s Shoppe. Too bad the diner is the latest target for Principal Stanger. You better believe this is the last straw for our title character.

Past Aways #9 ($3.99, Dark Horse Comics): It pains me to have this book on the list. Not that the book has been bad. No, it’s that this is the final issue of the series from writer Matt Kindt and artist Scott Kollins. There are so many things to love about this book, which has felt like a love-letter to the 1960s Marvel books but set in the world of time-travel. Will the team make it home to their original time? Probably not, but only because of the damages they have done to the past in their travels.

X-Men ’92 #1 ($3.99, Marvel Comics): For an entire generation of X-Men fans, their gateway into the world of the mutants was the 1990s Fox cartoon show. These fans love this era of the X-Men, with really big hair and over-the-top proclamations. And don’t get me started on how Jubilee became a featured character! Writers Chris Sims and Chad Bowers and artist Alti Firmansyah have the fun assignment to play in the specific world that ties more into the TV series and very little into the comic books, either from that era or from today.
